The Dog and Duck is a small community pub,'a proper local'. It has been described as a traditional English pub with Irish 'craic' and feels like a country pub in an urban environment with a very friendly clientele. One of the most popular pubs in North London, despite being one of the smallest, it constitutes 'home away from home' for discerning habitues for many miles around. 

The pub is renowned for exceptional hospitality with great atmosphere and excellent staff, offering a warm and friendly service; the way it should be. Serving great beers, wines and spirits and putting on superb entertainment from the latest sports (Sky Sports/ESPN/Racing/GAA) to monthly live music with solo artists or DJs.  Monthly Quizzes are held the last Monday of each month and regular Shove Halfpenny competitions are organised. The pub caters for small functions in partnership with Newmans The Caterers and a range of buffets (hot or cold) can be organised from breakfast meetings to small functions/parties. The pub is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2012 and has been for many years. It has an excellent range of beers and is renowned for its Real Ales and Guinness (they say it's better than Dublin Guinness).

The pub supports and raises funds for many local charities by organising Golf Days and Race Nights. There is a very active Golf Society and also a Cycling Club and a Fishing Club.

There is a beautiful garden located at the back of the pub which is heavenly and peaceful on a Summer's day and is used for BBQs and small garden parties.
